Preventing Illegal Working: Document Verification TWO Workshop
This course covers the employment of non-UK nationals who do not require formal employer sponsorship. It is therefore relevant to all employers and will help you to open up a wider talent pool.
The course looks at the requirements for EU nationals, dependants and family members, those with ancestry and those who have Indefinite Leave to Remain. We will also look at the employment of students sponsored by a Tier 4 education provider.
We deliberately keep our workshops small to enable interaction and the opportunity to ask questions and share experience. This helps put the learning points into practice and therefore embed the knowledge. Our learning points for this session are:
Understand who can work in the UK
Know the requirements of employing EU citizens (& Brexit discussion!)
Understand which immigration categories include the right to work and any restrictions placed on visa holders
Understand Home Office requirements for ensuring you have the statutory excuse against a penalty
Review the limitations of the statutory excuse
Understand what records you need to keep to prove you have checked right to work
Implications of Brexit & the EU Settlement Scheme on checking right to work
Know the rules for employing non-EU students
Understand how good you have to be at spotting fake documentation
The workshop timings are 9:30 to 4:30 and it is held in our Gatwick office
The cost is £250 plus VAT for each delegate, which includes comprehensive reference material as well as lunch
